"Non-Delivery Referral", and something new on the CIS website

for all you post-approval and pre-plastic folks...

i spied this morn on the case status page of the CIS website (https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp) the following:

"If you were granted permanent resident status or entered the U.S. with an immigrant visa more than 60 days ago and have not received your first permanent resident card, please call 1-800-375-5283"

since i fall squarely into this category, i got on the horn rightaway. after the usual (long) wait, this gal with a cute southern accent came on line, asked me if i had received a "welcome notice" from the CIS. i assured her i had not, having only received an approval notice, and then having obtained my i551 stamp on the strength of that.

she asked me for my LIN, re-confirmed my address/phone number, asked me for a good time to call, and informed me that she was filing a "non-delivery referral" on my behalf. i idly wondered if the "non-delivery" referred to the green card, or the welcome notice, but chose not to quiz her about it. she further told me that if i didn't get something in the mail from them in 3 - 4 weeks, then i might want to call them back.

just thought i'd share this with y'all.

what kept you boys?!

looks like other folks have posted news about this earthshattering new development already... i thought i'd let my post remain as a testament of life afterwards...

y'all be good now, y'hear?

What's a "welcome letter"? I have received my plastic card two weeks ago, but no trace of a "welcome letter"...

in the NSC 485 forums (where i am wont to lurk), different folks have reported different permutations of paperwork they received from USCIS after getting their GCs approved. for instance, many folks would get an approval notice, then the plastic GC. later, some folks would get their approval notice, then a welcome notice, and then the GC. if i remember right, in one case, somebody got an approval notice, went for i89 processing, then got a notice that they need to come back for i89, since the first one went bad...

with CIS, who can tell?

Wife and son did not receive the card yet...

Hi...

I already got my GC Card but my wife and son did not receive anything yet. Our pp was stamped on May 21,2004 in Albany.

Should I do something or inform anyone about it...

Thanks in advance...

Hi Pork Chop...
