Hi all,

This is probably an oft -repeated question but could not find a thread with my question.I was trying to find out about the non-availability of bith-cert. affidavit from 2 relatives......now both my parents are oldest children and my father just has his mother who is alive but is illiterate. My question....1) does the affidavit have to be signed by a person older than my dad? 2) if they can't write,is the thumb impression ok...and in that case is there anything else needed...like it to be notarised or something? 3) does the affidavit have to be made by a blood relative only? My father has brothers and sisters but they are all younger to him...can they sign the affidavit? If it has to be older person, can it be any relative or has to be blood relative?

Thanks for any help!
