No walk-ins in Newark

Today I went to newark,NJ for PP stamping and I wasn't allowed in.
At the reception counter I have been told ( gave me a notice)that today(?) onwards only infopass would work! No walk-ins!

This seems to be true. Since i was there this morning and after 9am they did not let anyone without Infopass inside the building
 
I went to Newark INS office today (11/03/04) for my PP stamping, without appointment at 7 am. I was allowed inside. The whole process took 5 hours. My PP stamp is done. There are giving priority to people, who have infopass appointment.

I went around 8.45 a.m.! That could be the reason! But why on earth they say no more walk-in's today onwards?
 
Regarding Info pass

Myself and my wife's 485 is approved on Nov/01/2004.

My wife is going to India on Nov/26. I need to do 485 stamping for her.

I heard from my lawyer with out Info Pass I cannot do PP stamping except Wedensdays.

Still I am waiting for my approval notice. It looks like with out approval notice I cannot make INFO pass appointment.

Please share your experience.

You don't need approval notice for an infopass appointment. Here is the link.. where you just give your zip code.. they will redirect you to select the date time .. approval paper comes to your home 4-5 working days..

so you better... try to get appointment as soon as possible.

First 50 applications are allowed without InfoPass

Hi,

I finished my finger printing stamping on Nov/10/2004. The officer was saying first 50 applications they will allow without Info Pass appointement.

I got my stamping done w/o approval notice .
I took the printout of approval email and infopass appointment .
No problem at all .
