NO Status change after FP

Hi ,

I received request for FP in March 2004 and had my FP done in April 2003.

It is more than a year and still my I 485 status msg in website has not changed.


"On March 25, 2003, we mailed a notice requesting that you appear for fingerprint recording. The notice also gave the times and location where this processing could be done. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283"


Does it mean that my FP had any issues and they have not yet recived an update from FBI?

I hear from my friends that their status changes after FP.

Guru's Please explain what might be the reason.

No need to panic Atrajan. For most the online message never changes during fingerprinting. Not even when they issue the notice to appear for fingerprints. Just as an example -my own:

I was fingerprinted for the first time in December of 2002. The message never changed and I know for a fact the fingerprints cleared with the FBI and were sent to the CIS because I just went in for my 2nd fingerprints last week due to expiration of the first set. My online message hasn't changed at all since my RD in October of 2002. The only thing that's changed is the "processing time" which as you all know shows between 570 and 600 days for most.

Your best bet is to call the FBI to find out if you fingerprints cleared and were sent back to the CIS.
