No Start date on the TN Letter

That is the correct way for the letter. The letter should be dated, with no start date, but for a specified duration.

Someone was suggested to add something like" The start date is one week after xxx obtained the TN" , would that works better than no start date? and what are you going to say if the officer ask you when is your start date, why it is not on your TN letter? Would they reject your TN because there is no start date?

Just as Nelsona suggested: The letter should be dated with no start date. The letter can state that your employment is contingent on obtaining TN visa approval. This was in my letter back when I got my TN. The immigration officer issued the TN with start date as per date on letter expiring exactly 3 years to the day.

SKRE, you'll find that when you ask a question, and get a detailed answer, that answer will generally not change by suggesting another different answer. Just sayin'
