Todays testimony by USCIS director says they stopped issuing RFE for financial (paystubs etc)... :)

Some good news after all

USCIS says they consider a case as backlog only after 6 months....indicating that the old cases will be held and new cases will be cleared first...just to show that they are improving and showing that the backlog is kept at the same level or reduced...what a farse

vsm,

Keep updating buddy! I have a firewall and makes it impossible to connect. I am losing all the soccer action also from Euro2004!

But that can happen only after they develop the system to store FPs, it seems. All of us are still vulnearable for FP2s.

Thanks for the updates on testimony.

i am guessing after they have the "new and improved" systems in place, that would be correct. (How hard is it to kill a scheduled job that deletes FP records which are 15 months + old anyway )

He claims he had systems in place so only cases earlier than last year are getting second FPs.

Well it is easy to delete the scheduled job. But do they have the infrastructure to store everything permanently? I guess not. If Yahoo and Google can afford to give 1GB mail space why can't INS have the capacity to store prints forever   May be with each application we file, instead of sending them application fee we will just throw/donate a 200GB hard drive bought for 100 bucks in the street. :)

There is no new news from the Director except for saying "we are working to reduce the backlogs by Sep 2006" and none of the members asked any real question except for praising the director for his work. No specific dates, resolutions etc., so I felt it was a wasted opportunity.

Some of the points made by the director:

1. RFEs will be limited and for financials there will not be any RFEs even the information on file is old and not current
2. They finally had a storage mechanism for FPs :p and so they will not issue 2nd FPs to most of the backlog cases.
3. only 2.7 Millon are considered backlog out of 6.2 million cases pending
4. EADs issued from this month end will be for more than a year

Hi vsm
Thanks for ur update
I have one question

about ur first comment

"RFEs will be limited and for financials there will not be any RFEs even the information on file is old and not current "

what does this mean? can u throw some more light on this?
and also is this the same as in I-485 stage what u mean to say isthat they will not issue RFEs for tax returns, pay stubs, W-2s etc but will only issue RFEs for EVLs (apart from RFEs for otherregular stuff if needed).
Does this mean that they won't issue RFEs for new financial docs (if alreday submitted) or won't issue RFEs even if these are NOT submitted at all???

Or r u talking abt in I-140 stage they won't issue RFEs for new company financials
