No Reciept, No Fingerprint Letter, No Interview Date -7 Months

i sent out my n-400 application on April 9,2012. I never received a receipt number from USCIS, I havent received a letter from fingerprinting... i haven't gotten anything in the mail UNTIL today,,, a Yellow letter , pre-interview case file review, stating that i need to take my NY state drivers license(which i have). Im new to this forum and the help from the members here will be able to help me out alot more than calling the 1-800 number, they have had me on hold for several hours for several days and always disconnect and put back on hold for a couple more hours.... CaN anybody PLEASE HELP ME ON WHAT TO DO what to EXpect or ANYTHING, THanks all so much,:(
 
Your yellow letter should have your receipt number on it. Near the top right where the bar code is.

You'll need to have your biometrics done before your interview. I'd check the status online with the receipt number from the yellow letter, but you will have to call customer service I think, or book an Infopass. You'll need to get your FP done but you'd need the FP letter to do it.

From experience, an Infopass is usually more productive, the people in the office are more helpful than the ones on the phone. You can't complete the process without biometrics, unless they were done in the last 12 months (I think) for another adjustment of status.

Thank you so much. I didnt realize i had to put all the characters by the barcode as a receipt number. It turns out on May 4th 2012 i was sent a fingerprint letter, which i never received and now im on hold to speak to a level 2 Rep. Thanks for the big help.

Just got off the phone with level 2 rep. Finally some relief, the helpful officer said i will be getting mailed a 2nd FP letter within 2-3 weeks and if i do not recieve anything after 3 weeks , i should call to get it faxed to me. Hope all goes well. Thanks again
 
Happy to help :) Glad you're getting back on track. One thing about the email/text updates... they aren't always reliable. Neither is the online status :-/

Hi, I have a very similar situation, how did this end? Did you really need to do the fingerprinting?
