No receipt notice or Finger printing appt yet

Filed for N-400 for me and my wife in Phoenix, AZ and I live in Seattle, WA

Date sent: Feb 20, 2009

I sent the package with a return receipt and confirmed the package was sent.

I had not gotten a receipt from USCIS and my checks also have not been cashed.

I had filed for re-entry permit earlier (I-131) and got approval for which I need to do finger printing. Also found out from the forums here that, if a FP is in file, there is not a need for another one. But I am wondering why I have not gotten the receipt number or checks cashed yet.

Please let me know if anyone has filed for their N-400 around the same timeframe I did and not gotten their receipts.

I am assuming you sent the application to the new lockbox address?

It can take anywhere from 2 - 4 weeks to get a receipt notice, depending on how many applications they have received in the month. One thing you can do is call USCIS and tell them you don't have a receipt notice yet. BUt i would wait another week.

As far as the fingerprinting is concerned. It is valid for up to 15 months. So if you did go for a fingerprinting appointment in the last year or so, then you may not have to go for another. But if you have not done so yet, then you will be scheduled for fingerprinting.

I mailed it with return receipt and I have still not received it and USPS says

"Status: Delivered , Your item was delivered at 3:40 AM on March 4, 2009 in PHOENIX, AZ 85004 "

which is also totally different.

Did you called USCIS? If yes, what was their respond. Can you please post the telephone number.
