No Plastic -- Going to Newark INS Again

My I-485 was approved in March 2002. I got my passport stamped in May. My wife got her plastic card within a few weeks buy I didn't. Finally I called VSC last month. The IIO was nice and apologized for the delay & problems. He said he would find out where my I-89 was and then contact me.

I have now received a letter saying that my fingerprint on the I-89 is not good enough. So I have to go to the local INS office (Newark, NJ) to do the I-89 process again. They asked me to bring the letter and photographs. I am planning to take my passport and I-485 approval letter as well. Is there anything else I should take?

Also, the letter doesn't say anything about an appointment (like the I-485 approval did.) So should I go on a regular day early or is it possible to get an appointment? (Wednesday is appointments only in Newark.) Also, what time should I get there?

My passport stamp is expiring in early May. Should I get it stamped as well? It might save me another trip to the INS office.

Any advice/suggestions are welcome.

Thanks
