No one is giving correct reply to my question:

Hi,

We did our finger printing 07/14/2007 and it went very smoothly. I have one big doubt, the test pattern has going to change from 2008. If we get our interview before dec 2007, we have to prepare for the old test. If it moves to next year we have to prepare for the new test. How can we know which one we should prepare? Alexandria CIS application center does not have any test book lets.

Can we get our interview letters within this year or not ? What do you think based on your experience?

Thanks for your answers in advance.

Ok, here goes the CORRECT ANSWER!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!

Keep coming back to this forum to find out when they start applying the new test. For now it is a pilot and although it is claimed to start applying next year I don't think it is a 100% sure when it is going to apply. Check the USCIS site frequently too.

The answer to your last question is might be, it depends on your local office and how quickly they are processing N-400.

Don't worry, if you have to prepare the new test it will be well publicized and you'll have online materials (I think someone has pointed you to them already on another thread) to prepare it.

My 2 cents

Latest reports was next summer or sometime for them to try and initiate the new test. They still have to weed out all the questions they don't want from the testing phase. Either way, if you study the new test, you will know the answers for the old test.

You will get your interview letters when they give you your interview letters. Since everyone is different and it's not a specific timeline. It's a time line based soley on your application and you, rather then a date of submittal. You might get it, you might not. All depends on your application and their interview schedual.

So study up for the test, it's really not that hard...
