no OCI for babies

This is a recent change and babies born outside India can only apply for PIO card and are not eligible for OCI. Many people who applied for OCI without realizing this recent change have received denial letters in the mail.

What happens to the OCI's and U visas that have already been issued to minor children of Indian citizens even before this new change was announced or added to the FAQs ?

Babies born in India are Indian citizens and do not need OCI. OCI is only for non Indian citizens.

The question is for babies born in US (and hence are US citizens) whose parents are Indian citizens, and who have already received the OCI before the new rule was introduced. Is the OCI still valid ? Has anyone in this situation contacted MHA and received a reply ?
