I just got off the phone with assistant of my lawyer because it came to my mind that we forgot to talk about police reports yesterday, when we finalized our I485 package.
Since I was living for an extended period in a third country, other than my original I already obtained a police record from them.
Now to my surprise, the lady tells me that there is no need for the police report anymore. Because they are checking everyone through IBIS, which is fine but I don't see how they will get a better result with that as IBIS is only an internal system of the USA and is not connected to other countries (to my knowledge at least). I guess another of those: "do something even if it is a step back... just do something so we can say we did something" kind of approach...
Anyways I was wondering can anyone verify that we really don't need the reports anymore, I would hate to get an RFE and wait an extra 6 months just to attach a police report which I already have in my drawer anyways.
