No movement in Nebraska!

I am beyond frustrated with the NSC. There seems to be no work happening there on K-1 visas. They seem to be stuck on 4/22! I did see some updates this week that said that they are on 5/1 as of 8/2, but I spoke with an information officer on 8/13 who stated that they were working on applications submitted prior to 4/22. I am thoroughly confused!

Does anyone have an idea what is going on over there? Why has there been no progress. This doesn't seem to be happening with the other service centers.

Nebraska slow

I'm interested in knowing how you actually spoke with someone. I have NEVER ONCE gotten through to a person.

Miracle!!

Actually, my friend and co worker got through and transferred the call to me. Her and a few of my other friends took it upon themselves to help me get information. She said she pressed redial about 40 times!

Ah....I see. Well if I filed April 15 and got approved August 2, and you filed June 12 you should probably count on approval at the beginning of October. It's conceivable that November 29 date you were looking at might be do-able, but I wouldn't plan just yet. Craig will be here September 4! Reservations are made and he is 95% done with everything in Kingston. I can guide you along on that process if you'd like. The big stickler was getting the approved petition down from Nebraska to Kingston. Even though I paid $140 bucks, it still took TWO WEEKS. I can get a package down there in two days for less than $30.....for you, without filing the I-824, it might take six to eight weeks and then you're looking at him being here after Christmas sorry to say...unless you get approved before that but I wouldn't really start to get nervous until after the end of September.

That is really good news! September 4 is right around the corner. Yes, I would love for you to help me with the next stage (If we ever reach it!). Well, I am going to see Carey for 3 days on the 18th of September, that will make the next waiting phase a little easier. I still have my fingers crossed, though.

too slow

Hello
Yesterday I found this message board and is very interesting because we can share our experience in this slow process. 'Til today we (my fiancée and I) have no answer from Nebraska's Service centre and our documents are dated 28/03. As you may imagine its quite a long time and we really feel it day by day because of the distance.
Reading the above replies we feel more confortable that probably in the next days we can have an answer. Do you know how much it takes to notify an US Embassy or Consulate in Europe once the documents are approved?
Well good luck to all and we will be in touch, OK

rocco,

what was your receipt date?

I see 28/03. Is that Feb 3, 03 or the 28th of some month?

I'm curious b/c my fiance receipt is 2/28/03 and have heard nothing yet.

thanks.

hello, my receipt date is March 28
We don't know how long will it take, specially with our frustation being distanced and seing also that other services are procesing the documents faster than Nebraska!!!

Is not fare!!

No movement is an understatement

Hey everyone,

Take a look at http://pub99.ezboard.com/bk1advocacygroup. We have been digging up information on Nebraska and have formed an advocacy group.

The site for the group itself is: http://www.nsc.thegreatvoid.com.

NSC indicated in a letter to a Minnesota inquiry that they are falling behind at a rapid rate. They are processing 1 days worth of petitions every 3 days. As you can find on this site they are officially supposed to be processing around the begginning of February. Actually there are open petition as far back as January 2002! And they have actually processed at least one from early August... They actually seem to be just pulling them out at random. There are approvals from December, January, February, March, April, etc.

Check out the board and site for more information.

Pete

What you read on the USCIS site is not exactly what is happening with your papers. It takes 3 -5 months to process an I-129F and if you did not sent it by certified or Registered mail - Who Knows. Best advice if its been over 5 months is email your Congressmen they do except letters. Good luck
