Guys, as of yesterday all the service centers phone numbers has been cut off. The only way to reach them now is through the 800 number and the changes is now showing on the case status online service. I hope all the people that use to answer the phones are now part of the 485 group.

Jadi if the folks who answer the phones to adjudicate then it might be a double edged sword. I have called the number and the folks did not even know that there was a stoppage in 485 approvals. If such ignorant (don’t care) people go to adjudicate either they will approve 485’s at a very rapid pace because they don’t know squat or they will not approve any cases because they don’t know squat (double edged sword). Good thought though.

My guess is that these folks will still be working to reply customer questions only now instead of the phone they will have to email back or type a letter back. Because if you call the 800 number and they cannot answer your questions your case will be noted and will be referred to the service center for a written approval. We all know what written responses for your questions mean?

:-)

called 1800-375-5283

Just called the 1800 number, they answered the phone really qick, but they said they can not access the service center's database, they just read the web message for you, and said that is only thing they can do!!!!!.

All the service center's phone numbers are gone from the case status page.

Damn it.

But I spoke to IIO today

Guys,
I just want to inform you that I called just now to BCIS and talked to an IIO about my address check. I believe the stoppage is from June 1 st. But the 1-800 must have been activated. May be you can try to BCIS if needed.

talked to IIO yesterday about 485 status

I called yesterday and talked to IIO (we should not called them IIO because they are merely phone attenders who are not knowing anything around them) everyone is thinking that phone cuts will speedup the work because these so called IIO's will sit on table and start approving our cases ,in reality this is not the situation.
Yesterday I asked about the I485 status. She said same Nov2000 answer. I had given this call very positively to get some confirm status of our time (Aug2001) applications. She said she has no idea when this Nov2000 will skip to further date. She told me we change every month processing date and now will see change in June ( May be she was not aware that May has remained unchanged) I asked are you positive that this will change next month. She has no idea. I told her we call everytime to get some good news but this long wait is going very hard now.
she was sympathetic to my comment and replied " I understand the pain" ( first IIO to say a line of sympathy) .
Me : Is there a freeze on I485?
IIO : NO
Me : then why it is taking so long.
IIO : It is just too slow.
Me : can you not ask for my case documents and assign to officer
for approval.
IIO : I can not do that.
Me : How much more time to wait .Give me some time estimate.
IIO : currently officers are having hundreds of cases to work on when they are finished further cases will be assigned.

So atlast I could not get any sign of TSC working back on I485's.

wait and pray.

I read in a CSC thread that they have 3 officers doing these and that they are going to add 7 more.
Perhaps TSC has 1 officer (working part time which is why we see some random approvals from time to time) and are planning to increase staffing by 100% to a grand total of 2 officers.
