Don't give too much importance to LUD -- its anything but predictable.
There has never been a good pattern for LUDs -- sometimes it changes and sometimes it doesn't.
If you took your FP notice with you, they would've scanned your barcode before doing your FP -- that would pretty much ensure that the FP gets linked to your case.
