What he should do then? praise USICS and sitting there watch how things will go? It is only wise to take preventive measurement. Too late to complain once it happened.

You should learn one thing. EVERY BODY HAS HIS OPINIONS. I expressed my opinion on the impact of new Memo and the pilot projects. You should have presented your analysis instead of passing comments on me. There is no problem if people read things differently. I am not trying to put fear into any one's heart here. People are wise enough to take it at it's merit.
 
Then please post facts, not numbers that you make up... (refer to the thread in your original post to see what I mean).

If it is your opinion, you should make it clear that it is so, and NOT use it in "marketing" posts. In my humble opinion, at this point you are doing more harm to immigrationportal.org than good. If you want to drum up support, its best to do it honestly and based on facts, instead of misleading potential members/clients. How can I trust you with not only my money, but with representing my best interests, when I can't even trust your information....

PS. You know what they say about opinions. They are like a__h__es... everyone has one... and just because you have one... it does not mean other people are interested in hearing it. :)

To address your points, his post wouldn't be "preventative measurement" even if it was based on fact. "No green cards this year if your I140 is already approved" is hardly a defendable statement, or something that will decrease processing times.

Note I never said he should not promote his organization (if anything I been providing subtle--and not so subtle--hints on how he can do such activity with a higher chance of success). I am merely suggesting that the method he chose (a favorite one of american news media, btw) is not the best choice in a demographic whose people supposed to be highly intelligent. (EB based immigrants) Smart people find the misinformation very quickly (see the thread posted in the OP for this fact) and the backfiring of that tactic does not reflect well on either him, (or more importantly) the organization he represents (look under his name next to his posting).

Anyway, that's my two cents that I would have thought a smart person would consider as feedback that they can only benefit from.
 
sure. the purpose of the forum is to hear opinions. I certainly hope the title is not a fact. I understand he is probably frustrated that not so many people wake up to emergency we are facing. Like you said, smart people will think about it. If most of us are smart, why only so few have repsones to the call to follow immigrationportal.org? Maybe we are so smart that we know somebody else will worry for us. Also who knows this won't happen if we donot act now? These are just my two cents, you are welcome to disagree. I am also not trying to force it anyone else. I guess if everyone is debating on this, he would have achieved his goal to grep our attention -:)
 
I don't necessarily disagree with you, however I think that the primary purpose of this forum is to keep us informed through the collection of knowledge and facts (and not opinions) on what is going on with others in the same boat as us. This is precisely why I take a strong stance on misleading information. To me that is sabotage of this mostly successful communication vehicle. Misleading information results in seeding distrust, seeding distrust results in decreased communication, which results in decreased communal knowledge, which is a failure for the 'prime directive' of this forum, IMHO. Nothwithstanding that, the bigger problem is the fact that the source of this misinformation is representative(s) of the very organization that should be working real hard to gain the trust of the members of this forum. Frustration, and other emotional responses are fine with us average joe's, but when one represents an incorporated entity, one should put the interests of that entity before their need of personal venting.

As for the 'smart people' part of your post, its precisely what you see. In my humble opinion, immigrationportal.org has not been successful in presenting their/our case well enough to earn the support of people who evaluate their financial contribution places carefully. (I'd call them smart). Note, this is my personal opinion--I respect the opinion of any and all who disagree--and not intended to incite flame wars, but merely presented as supporting analysis in response to your comment. As for "smart people will think about it" I'd say yes, for about a second until they spot the misinformation...then whatever negative emotion they have towards this PITA process is likely to be spent on the messenger. After all, as you said, frustration is human nature.

PS. Woo hoo! I just noticed this is my 100th post, and I became a senior member.... weird, I feel the same as I did when I was just a lowly member....

Here is my posting in Vermont Service center about the same issue.....I personally feel that we are really confusing...By my posting, I don't want to differentiate between new filer, future filers and old filer...except a few most of us faced the discrimination of either the labor dept or USCIS...

Anyway, don't read the following with the intention that I am against the future filers...I am against the backlogs...I would support if it is logical and helpful...to me it is a tactical ploy to accentuate our differences and to weaken our community and to create sub-classes within our class thereby weakening our class action suit.......

I am not sure whether he was speculating or with some info..
when dsatish came up with 80% of adjudicators allocated for pilot program in service centers,
I don't know his bases of his speculation...If I am asked to speculate, I will speculate 100% rather than 80%...Here is my rationality for that speculation...

If you a create a prototype, essentially we need to test some hypothesis: What is the hypothesis behind this pilot program. It can be one of these two.
i) with the current infrastructure, with the new process, can we complete the concurrent filing in 90 days
or
ii) With the new process, how many resources we require to complete the concurrent filing in 90 days.

Now, look at the current scenario...consistently for the last two years, every service center is moving at a pace of one month of processing for every four months..clearly, the petition filing are more that the adjudication ...

If you want to test these hypothesis, you have a create a sample . INS has choosen a full population as a sample when they said that they will accept all the concurrent filers filed after this date till the pilot ends....

So, suppose you want to create a prototype of say airport construction, what you do...your sizes should be proportional...right...that is if the model aeroplane size is 1/1000 th of the original size, then the model airport appropriately has to be 1/1000 of that... now, here in the pilot project , the size of the sample is the actual population....

So, the positive scenario for us is that they are testing the first scenario as that would mean they are alloting the equal number of persons that are currently used for adjudication of 485 for this case...if they are testing for the second hypothesis, essentially that means they have to allot more than the current number( as our experience tells us it is not moving on a month to month basis)....

There can be third option...the third option is that they will consider a sample by considering only a fraction of petitions filed daily so that they can use less resources for it...again how they select that fraction ....may be another "lotto" will be in place....

If they are not doing any of the above three scenarios....then essentially, they are not testing any pilot program....they are just freaking and we are thinking that they are doing something with good intentions....

So, what do you think they might be doing in this pilot programs...
I urge you to think and come up with your ideas...

Please folks take it easy...this is not the time to fight and curse...it reflects bad light on our efforts. Everyone is entitled to their opinions....having said it is desirable that speculations should be backed up with reasoning or facts. In any case take it easy everyone....please dont use profane language or personal attacks on individuals...our cause is more important .....chill it and contribute towards immigrationportal.org.....

Being some one from NSC, you do not know anything about me (i am from VSC forum) and that is the main reason for your allegations against me.
Yester day i have learnt a lesson. Even if some one hits you hard, just ignore him. Had i not replied to one person, things would have been cool. Now i should be doing the same thing with you, but i see a difference in you and the other guy. The other guy who fought with me is obviously a hot blooded guy and i have decided to stay away from such people in future. Coming to you, i see the issue with you and me is due to lack of understanding between us because we are from different forums.
First of all, nobody in VSC forum has accused me of trying to market ip.org . They all know me for over a year and they know that i don't play games. Even while fighting with me, GC_NC123 has made it clear that he does not dislike me and his anger is towards the title of my posting (i have obliged his request by adding a note at the beginning of my first posting).
You have completely misunderstood ip.org . It does not belong to me and it is not started by me. It is just a registered organization of members of this forum. I am no different from you. We have not come to this forum after starting some company. ip.org is a people's organization, formed to help legal immigrants like you and me in facing the mighty powers like INS. Rajiv Khanna is also a director of the organization. If he does not have confidence in us, he would have either not entertained us or he would have not joined the board. We (core team) have been vigourously involved in fighting the backlog issue for the past 8 months. Most of the action was taking place in VSC.
Too much is written by you and couple of folks on the subject of "junior member". If you read my posts, no where i have used that word against any one. GC_NC123 has just said without any substantiation that i have made such remarks in the past. People like you just took it for granted.
Lastly, the success or lack of it, of ip.org will not depend on the people who promote it (core team members and the other supporters). The success will depend on people like you. If you all want to join the fight against backlogs, then the organization will succeed, otherwise it will not. The people who have not joined , is not due to their disbelief in me. There are 12 other members in the board and together they represent one of the most respected community in this forum. The lack of support, if any, is due to lack of belief in the need or ability of such an organization to fight the mighty forces. Once people see that more and more people are joining it, they will also join.
I am not going to reply to you any more if you indulge in casting doubts about the people. On the other hand, if you have genuine questions about ip.org, i will be glad to answer.

PS : If you do not know other person, then please do not post about him. Honesty , straight forward approach and transparency
are hall marks of my character and that's why more than 60 people from VSC has already joined ip.org through contributions and several have expressed their willingness to donate in future. Try to do some good thing in this forum and try to get 10 people behind you because of the good work you have done. It's not easy. Just because 3 or 4 people made some comments on my posting, does not make me guilty. Try to see the positive replies also. They outnumber the negative replies by 5 times. No good thing can be achieved without some resistance. I have taken this much time to reply to you, not to impress others, but just you because from you postings, i believe that you are a nice guy who has this little mistrust due to the lack of contact between you and the core team members. We have only one person from NSC forum and that's why you don't hear core team voice much in NSC forum. It was my strong intention not to make any comments on you, and if there is anything in this post that attacks you, please excuse me. If you really want to know more about me, just do a search on my ID and go through my postings over the past 1+ yr.
 
Since when this is become VSC vs NSC. I admitted NSC has less "active" members, and I was frustrated when I see little response to my post. But that is exactly why we shouldn't make such separation, it only makes it worse! I suggest we stay postive.

Now it is too far from original topic, do we have any concrete plan? It is the critical time for "core" team to meet and discuss. That will attract more people join and donate. Just my two cents.

We all can have different opinions and can argue about it in a civilized way, but insulting other people and using profane language towards the people you know nothing about is unacceptable.

NSC 485 forum is one of the few decent forums where foul language is rarity, and in its stead we've had enjoyable posts by folks such Pork Chop, Orca, the mysterious Sankrit, and now by SirZ. Unfortunately some of those posts used to be censored (for reasons that they are non-immigration related), while vile posts such as the ones in this thread go unchecked......

Anyhow, the point was that dsatish, please don't put words in my mouth, half the stuff you said, I didn't say.

More importantly, understand that what I said was because I felt that its important to the benefit of immigrationportal.org. I felt that my suggestions/advice was a good means to ensuring the success of the organization. I don't dispute your character, your organization, I solely felt that the method used cast a bad light on you all.

It's the sad fact of life that people like this exist. I am guilty of having a little fun at his expense last night, the smarter approach would have been to ignore him. Engaging people like that is like feeding them. You ignore them, they die.

Everyone comes here for some sort of help, be it information of specific answers to questions. If you establish a reputation as an idiot, when the table turns and you need the community's help, how likely do you think they will help you? :)

Frodo, good point on the unfortunate application of moderation... I hope that the powers to be only improve their decision process the next time they come across a "Joke of the day" post. :)

PS. Frodo, Bilbo called and he wants his ring back. He also said he'll settle for your Green card in lieu of the ring. :)
