No FP yet May case.

My 140 approved Sept23. my ND is May19.
Still no FP. It is frustating to see Jun,July people get FP.s

also the processing Date shows May31 for 485. I am still pending with May19. This totally sucks.

1. FP is random..Do not get fustrated
2. You can ask USCIS about FP by email to CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov
3. If you are from India/China your I-485 will not be approved till PD becomes current (passes 04/2002)

4. If you are from non retrogressed country you will get GC as soon as they get FP results.

I was told (by my lawyer) that the background check generally initiates
after FP is recieved (whether you're affected by retrogression or not).

Yes, Background back is initiated after getting FP but name check is initiated as soon as you apply for I-485. Retrogression has no effect on it.

I got email reply from USCIS after enquiry

This is to inform you that the I-485 in question is still pending. The
reason
that it is still pending is that USCIS is awaiting NAME CHECK results
from
the
FBI. It may have been a long time since we sent the name, but USCIS has
no
control of the time it takes.USCIS also does not have dates as to when
the
Names
were originally sent to the FBI, we can only confirm that they in fact
were
sent.

Secondly, there are currently no visas available.

Please Note: If the principal is not adjudicated then the derivatives
will
NOT
be adjudicated. We apologize for any and all inconvenience this may
cause.

Same here! However, I am more concerned about the "Name check" step as it seems like a black hole.
Does anybody know how long it takes for FBI to run the Name check and send data back to USCIS?
Links to additional information on the Name check would be appreciated!

send an email to CSC-XII.485@dhs.gov with your WAC & A# & tell him that you cannot check the status online.. It will be fixed in few days
