Hello Gurus,

My case has been approved and received the letter for GC.Processing.We went to immigration office on April 7 and they said we are not stamping passports any more because processing is so fast now and you will get the cards in the mail very soon.It has been 2 weeks now we havent received the cards or welcome letter.How long usually takes to receive them?Any help pls.

Have you changed your address recently? Some times even after notifying USCIS the address changes, it will not get updated in their system. So if you have changed your address recently call uscis and make sure that they send the card to the correct address. It happened like that for my wife, they send the card to the old address eventhough we notified them about the address change. I think if they have your biometric info you should be getting the card within 2 weeks
 
Same situation here also. I got approved on the 13th, they said I might have to get fingerprinted but a notice will follow or else I get my green card. But nothing yet!
 
my GC Approved, Is the card I received a temporary card

Hi,

Today I recieved my GC plastic card and also an approval letter for my 485. Is this the temporary card or a permanent one? How can I get my Passport stamped? How can I get my permanent card?

Hi phani78,

I believe that the GC plastic card is a permanent one and you do not need to stamp your passport. Why do you think that the card is just a temperory one?

See my signature below. My GC case was approved on May-6th and I received an email saying that GC Card was mailed on May-11th. So, I am expecting the card sometime next week. This will be the permanent card and there is no need to stamp the passport.

Sometime back people used to get their passports stamped. Why they do that? And should I too.

I was approved on the 21st and the approval notice saya that I might receive a biometric processing notice if I nedd one in 90 days ... nothing so far I am going to the local office tomorrow for a stamp ... will post what they said .

Hello phani78 - Congrats to know that you got your GC. Was your case an EB3 or EB2 Labor substitution? Please let us know.
 
It takes three to four days to get the cards.

I went to the local office today and asked them if I could give my biometrics as its been thirty days and I havent recieved the notice to appear for biometrics. the lady at the local office after looking at my 485 reciept signed it and told me to go and have them done on the other side of the office.

my question is that will this help in having my card ordered. Or only the original letter will trigger the order process. After the finger prints around mid afternoon the LUD on 485 changed.

====== Earlier the card was ordered only after you got your passports stamped. At the time of stamping they used to take finger prints which was eventually put on the card. You had to wait 6 months to get your card after approval. So the stamping was done to enable you to travel without the card and come back.I appreciate your time

I went to Jacksonville Florida local office. After the LUD i got mails around mid night that card has been ordered.
