No 2nd FP logic

Friends, correct me if I am wrong.
When an RFE is issued close to the 1st FP expiration date, this means that case has been picked up, reviewed and everything is okay except for whatever is required for RFE. Then when RFE is sent back and is okay, case is approved. The checklist that had FP was already reviewed before and hence no need for 2nd FP.
In cases where RFE is given much before OR FP has expired long back, then this may not hold true.
I reached this conclusion because of a spate of RFEs to peple around their FP expirations but no 2nd FP after that (even after RFE has been replied to).
Some cases have been approved also.
This may be wishful thinking but seems logical.
Best Wishes.

I guess you're right, with the exception that it takes months
for BCIS to process your RFE. There are people here who
responded to their RFE more than a year ago. Mine has 'only'
been six months so far.

looks like BCIS is working at your backyard

you should know nothing is logic for BCIS

One friend of mine (RD 12/01) did the 1st FP as the same time as I did, and was approved 5 months after the 1FP expired without any RFE. While my case, Oct 01, is still pending with RFE, and 3 FPs... NOTE my case is much more straightforward than his.

Don’t Worry be Happy

This theory was shaky anyway- with so many current 2nd n 3rd FPs. In any case there is no method in the madness. Guessing, speculation, hypothesizing etc is good use of spare time with people in the same boat. Beyond that- just be patient and try to stay distracted.

I agree that there is no method to this madness. In my case I got a medical RFE before the expiry of my FP(had a week left). However I responded after my FP had expired . But I was approved without having to do a re-FP.

I got RFE just before expiration of 15 months.

Hi,

I got the RFE just before 15 months of expiration of 1st FP(??). Immidiatly I have replied to that RFE. After 2 months got the 2nd FP notice. I have finished my 2nd FP in Dec first week. The website message was not updated and still says old message (RFE received).

If seems there is no logic for issuing the 2nd FP.??

Thanks,

cole, are you serious about your friend b eing approved with 1st fp expired, and no 2nd fp yet, i think that is a great new, can you please varify this, because this seems not possible so far from what we have seen on this forum, if your news is the honest news, then there is nothing like it, hope you respond this soon with more details.
thanks

Mostly wishful, in my view; and of course I wish you a speedy approval without 2nd FP. Our cases are similar, so your approval will also give me some moral boost as well!

I have also seen few (not too many) similar cases where 2nd FP was issued after replying RFE.

Best wishes,

Jigesh

that is absolutely true

no kidding at all... I swear

the details already listed above. That is why i think no logic is with bcis

Called USCIS

Just now spoke with a representative regarding issue of 2nd FP.
1st FP- June 2002.
SHe said that "We cannot give any info and cannot initiate any query unless I have crossed 30 days limit of the current processing dates".
That is if INS is processing upto 31 Jan 2002, I do not have this liberty to check my 2nd FP notice until INS processing dates officially show atleast 28th Feb or 1st March 2002.
What crap!!
