I took the following documents for the infopass appointment:
1)Infopass appointment print-out
2)Driver's license
3)List showing the A# & I-485 case# for self and dependents
 
are the biometrics for EAD the same as code 3

are the biometrics for EAD the same as code 3 ten finger print these days, iI heard that recently they are doing the same ten finger prints as they do in code 3 for EAD also.

I had a biometrics notice (Code 2) for my 5th EAD scheduled for Friday. However since I got my Code 3 (FP + Biometrics) for I-485 done today, they marked the biometrics notice as done.

Here is the explanation for the codes:
Code 1 = Finger Prints Only
Code 2 = Biometrics
Code 3 = Finger Prints + Biometrics

Guys and Gals,

Although it is great to keep getting FP notices as soon as the old ones expire, there is no consistency in the process. Some people get FP notices as soon as their last ones expire while others don't get them till after they are approved. I have known a lot of people getting approvals with expired FPs. The only catch is that they send the Bio notice with the approval and the physical card is not mailed till the applicant completes the Bio. This just causes a slight delay in getting the physical card. If FPs are current then they approve the case and send out the cards immediately.

Great info Saras.
We just don't want them to hold the approval because of FP.

Went for our infopass today in Newark, NJ (EB3-In, Priority Date will be current in June, first and only FP done in Nov 2004, no 2nd FP request to date). The immigration officer said that they cannot issue FP notice since the file is with TSC not transferred to their office. Only TSC can take any action on the file while it is with them.
While she was filling up a status request for us, a desi couple at the next counter was trying to get their FP notice changed saying they got it issued from this office! I then heard our immigration officer telling the other officer that they should not give any 485 FP notices unless they have the file with them. Apparently depending on the luck of the draw, you may or may not get it.
While that was a disappointment, what made me happy was hearing that my NC was cleared (had never asked about its status till now).

So it's wait and watch for me...

Your message very clearly shows the moron was not only not helping you but also obstructing the other officer who was helpful:mad:
I also had my share of ill-luck in 2005 when I was following up for FP notice for my wife and son month after month (with PD being current but no interview scheduled because FP was not completed for some dependents).
 
is it possible to do FP using infopass ?

my FP expired already . done 25 month back. no 2FP yet.
Can I take infopass and do FP? Is that possible?
