NJ LC in non-RIR/EB2/Dec 2001

I am new to this forum and I would like some expert advice from some people out there. I applied for LC in NJ in the non-RIR, EB2 category in Dec 2001. It is already more than 2 years 4 months. The wait has been a long and painful one. My lawyer tells me to wait still. 6-th year on H1-B will expire next March. Is someone out there in the same plight as mine. Does anyone know when DOL will get to my case (some sort of timeframe will help). I know RIR cases are proceeding from Jan 2002. I am in the non-RIR category. Also how long will it take for DOL to process the LC when they get to it. Any reply to this is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
 
I am sorry but I do not understand these terms. Remove "S" from "PERM". What does "S" mean? What does "PERM" mean? Thanks for taking the time to explain.
 
Applied in non-RIR/EB2 category in Dec 2001. Till date no news. Do you know of someone in this timeframe who have heard from DOL. Also does someone know when non-RIR of Dec 2001 applications will be reviewed by DOL. Getting desperate. My six years on H1B is running out fast. I know I can get extensions but I am still hoping........

SPERM -> (S)PERM -> Early (conceptual) stage of PERM
