NIW- Self sponsored Green Card

Hi Rajiv,

I work as a clinical and research dietitian at a large urban acadeic hospital in Boston. It's a private non for profit, they sponsored my H1-B(valid upto 2013), but stated they wouldn't sponsor my GC. I was told that since I'm involved in clinical research I can apply for a GC through NIW.
If so: (a)can I self sponsor myself? (b) how can I ascertain whether I qualify for the NIW?

It is not easy. Evaluate your evidence objectively. There is also a NIW for physicians with state or federal sponsorship in an under-served area.
