Anybody who gives you a simple answer to that question is misleading you.
If you are serious about your NIW application for permanent residence, then my overwhelming suggestion is that you concentrate your efforts on finding a good attorney who has experience in NIW cases.
It's not that what the attorney does is that difficult, or even time consuming. But they do know the ropes and the subtleties involved.
Yes, it will cost you money. But it ay be a hell of a lot cheaper than losing your status and/or job if you screw up the NIW trying to do it yourself.
Believe me, it happens. When you read these boards, you see people who are self-filing ask questions about NIW that demonstrate that they really have NO IDEA what they are doing.
The NIW category has its advantages, but it is a difficult category to navigate. Spend the money.
