NIW Completion

Hi,

I am completing my 5 years in an underserved area either in August or october of this year depending on whether or not I count time off during pregnancy. I have a NIW based I485 pending. Both my husband and I got fingerprinted last week (yet again!!)
My question is, after completion of 5 years, does the service center (in my case California) send a request for evidence of completion of 5 years? Or do we just send in the information?
Any idea how long final adjudication takes at the CSC?

THANKS!!!

Is it the beneficiary or the employer in the MUA/HPSA to file the I-140 NIW petition. In my case the employer is VA. I have read the VA handbook on J1 physicians carefully and it reveals that the VA can file a I-140. But from the posts here on the forum it seems that the beneficiary generally files NIW I-140 along with the National/Public Interest letter. Is it correct? Please explain. I am in the process of preparing my I-140. Thanks for everybodys input on the forum.

Either can do it, that said why would you ever want to depend on your employer to do that when the powers that be are offering you independence and autonomy?
File on your own!

I am blessed with the most wonderful employer anyone can ever wish for. I too got an RFE after 3 yrs from the CSC asking for evidence of completion of the 1st 12 months. After I replying to this, they accidently sent me my GC!!!! After talking with multiple lawyers, i was advised to return it; a process that cost me a lot of time and attorney fees.
The reason why I am asking whether they send an RFE after completion is because I'm not sure whether to send in the evidence in August or October, due to the time I took off.
Also, does anyone know how long it takes for them to post fingerprint results? Do they send out fingerprint renewals automatically or does it mean that they are actually looking at my file?
Thanks!

Aug Vs Oct depends on your judgement. Having said that I would just wait until Oct and send it. After all you are not going to get uour Green card in 3 months anyway, further if you sent it in in Aug and they felt you should have sent it in in Oct then they will possibly delay your file for a lot longer!
I would just do it in Oct and be more peaceful, hey after 5 yrs what is another 3 months!
