I just got a email notice from INS that NIW and Eb1 received on Oct 4th, 2004 was approved today without REF. It has been only 4 months.

However, I have no news on I-485. My question is that do they approve I-485 together with I-140? (concurrent filing).

They do not do concurrent anymore, unless you are lucky and the stars are aligned such that I-140 is adjucated after your FP etc.

My I-140 approved 1 week ago, I was hoping they will approve my I-485 soon as it was a concurrent case. When did they stop processing concurrent? That means, I have to wait for anorther 2 years for the I-485 approval?

Is this only for VSC, because I know for sure that they are still doing concurrent at CSC

Hi,
I am an asst. professor in South Carolina, and planning to file my green card application this month. Which is easier, NIW or normal category (through labor certification)? My sevice center is Texas. Please advise...

Talk to your international office. You should be able to do "special handling LC" if your position ws advertised nationally, is tenure-track and multiple candidates were interviewd, and you were selected from them. This is the easiest, I think. Else I would go for OR.

If you do not have a tenure track position, NIW is the way to go.

If you are in VSC, I doubt that you would have to wait for two mor years, but looking at the I-485 forum, it might be a few months or more. Don't forget, USCIS really seems to be in backlog reduction mode.

I am not in VCS, but in TSC, now they are processing Dec, 2002 cases. Do you think, I have to wait another 2 years?

for sp. handling labor I don't think one has be on the tenure track as most universities has 2 pathways, tenure track and non tenure track but both are staff or permanent positions. In both tracks one get promotion with time if that person is doing good at the job.
