next two weeks very crucial !!!!!

Problem is not just the registration it is also the processing and making sure the documents are in order and there are no more atta's in the garden!

That is going to take time. It is just like 245 (i). Took just a couple of days to receive applications but for ever to process them.

Local and district offices of INS

are busy with special registration. I did not see anywhere that people are going to any of the service centers for SR so the officials at the service centers should be free to do what they are supposed to do.

IMO

Another month I think till Pakistan and Saudi Arabia SR is done. Feb if I am not mistaken. Should pick up speed after then. Just don't expect anything until this national security scare is done with.

Apparently Bush's propularity ratings have dropped under 60 % for the first time since 9/11. I hope it falls further, it is only then that he will stop beating this national security dead horse and get on with fixing the economy. That and other problems.

Bush also got a lot of bad press over the arrests at INS Sp. Reg. So hopefully they will cut that down.

Good luck to all of us! :)

Last two weeks were disappointing. I am a optimistic person ( may be
one thing I need to work on ) , but even by my pessimistic standard the number of approvals were absolutely hopeless.

So what part was disappointing?
Answer is little complex.
CSC is not "free and fair" system.

Countless number of times did I read on zillion web sites that :-
“ INS Says Halt Lifted on Approvals of Adjustments/Naturalizations .”.

then why the approvals are not coming?
If CSC never lifted the halt on approval of Adjustments ,then why do they have to misled the gc filer?

remember earlier
Per INS there was never a halt/freeze on approvals .
then what do INS mean by halt lifted on approvals.

The real problem is not with the approvals are not coming.
What troubles me most is that CSC is constantly misleading. And that is the problem.

Understand they can start and stop the “Adjustments/Naturalizations ” process as they see fit its national interest . and they should absolutely do that.
But, why CSC cannot be truthful about it ? or offer “ no comment” instead of misleading the Filers.
And this is what intrigues me.

It is possible in the end my gc will be approved/ not approved. But, in the process of getting there system has shown its "true color" . May be this part is not something I was expecting when I filled my application.

Ok then may be I should withdraw my application?

-yes , I could If I want ,but I would not . coz Just as “CSC/INS” could see fit its national interest. . I would decide that based on my interest.
But, I would be truthful about the facts.
And my interest a driven by pure economics . and not my political and moral evaluation of this system .My political, fairness and moral evaluation of this system would decide where I put my trust and money.

jaymehra11,

Sorry to make light of a serious note, but I found it hilarious to think about what is INS's definition of a freeze if the current situation is post "the freeze being lifted!" :D

Pity they are not a part of the private sector! They would be micemeat, we would have out sourced this green card process to a country like China or India, where they could hire someone for each application pending, and crank out approvals, and be current on 485 processing! :)

Chin up dude, a couple of months more will get the ball rolling. Give it 45 days more to see how INS shapes up!

Guys,
What did I tell you when I started this thread?
by now,You would have pretty good idea where CSC is headed.
