Merger of EAD and Advance Parole Under Consideration

The leaders of the BCIS have been pushing on the idea of issuing multiple-year EAD, but the officials indicate that this idea faces difficulties at this time. Rather, the BCIS is considering abandoning of the current Advance Parole document and allow the people to use EAD card as Advance Parole.

Atleast some of the people at BCIS have brains....

How about converting EAD to GC after one year, if they have not ruled on the 485 application?

Thats a neat idea. Though what problems could a multiple year EAD have? And if they just concentrated on 485s then they wouldn't have to deal with this .. correct?

Right.

Agree.. once they've merged EAD and AP into one card, its function is basically "SIMILAR" to the real GC. So after one year, it should be convertible automatically to GC.

that wud be good

hope they do both ideas - merge AP/EAD & make EADs multi year ones...that way they get to concentrate on other cases...I guess it wud reduce their processing load in this category by about 75% (assuming this category is all abt AP/EAD/GC approval/FP)

Wonder what new priority they will come with once they do that
