Thanks for sharing the info! Although this drives me nuts how 2000 cases are still pending and CIS has hoped onto 2002 cases

Grace,

Thanks for sharing this piece of good news. It gives hope to ND 02 asylees. Just wondering, did the approvals come from Nebraska? The reason I'm asking is that some early ND 02 cases have been transferred to Texas.

Yes, all the approvals were from Nebraska. Originally we thought they need additional evidences such as RTD's copy, etc. Actually they needed nothing, just gave an online and email notice.

More question? please let me know.

You mean to say they did not even ask for RFI (such as updated G-325A)? Is there something special about these cases?

I know I'm asking a lot, but any piece of info is welcome.

Thanks for the reply.

They gave us a notice on 7/21/05 for RFI online. Then we recieved the RFI letter for medicals and G325A and BIO (code 2) letters on July 30. We finished all of these by 8/12/05. What I mean was that they did not ask us for additional evidences like RTD, I-602 waiver, tax, etc even though we had a lot of world travels.

Hope this helps. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask if I can answer.

Grace,

It now makes sense. Thanks for the explanation. My case was transferred to Texas as part of the "backlog reduction". I am waiting to see if any one in this forum has had any news from texas after their case was trasferred. Hence, my questions.

Once again thanks and congratulations on your approvals.

I always ask this question .... what part of the World your friends are?

They are all from Russia. Any more questions? please let me know.

Thanks

Your friends are very lucky not to have gone through the RFE process. Most of us have to go through an RFE.

Since you said they've traveled outside the US, then I wonder what else triggers an RFE request. It must be just purely random. I wonder is the applicant's name or their native country has something to do with it.

Most likely, it is at the discretion of the immigration officer working on their case.

Most of us? Really?

Do you know why they ask you for RFE? What do they ask for RFE?

Well, judging from this forum it seems like many RFE requests followed by an approval. I do not know the real ratio of "NON RFE" / "RFE" approvals.
As for my case, I have not received the letter yet so I don't know why they requested an RFE.

The reason we felt there are more RFE Vs Non RFE is because those who received REF are more likely to share with us and ask for suggestion.

This is also why unsatisfied customers are more damaging than satisfied ones, because unsatisfied customers will complain to a lot more people about their experience.

Cards also arrived

The original CIS notice is as following:

This case has been approved. On September 8, 2005, an approval notice was mailed. If 14 days have passed and you have not received this notice, you may wish to verify or update your address. To update your address, please call the National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283.

When we hope to get the approval notice, actually each person received two letters today. One is notice letter, the other is for green card. the Green card has been backdated to Sep. 6, 2004.

My posting this news is just for encouraging our asylees who have not gotten cards. The green cards are not far from all of you.

Good luck

Grace

I think that you are right about country of origin and names.
