Hello forum mates,

We have a newborn baby, I tried to get him a birth certificate so I went to New Jersey Vital Records in Trenton and I did request a certified birth certificate for him, the representative told me it will take between 4 to 6 weeks to be ready.

My concerns is we want to travel for an emergency on Dec 1st and we can not get him a passport without a birth certificate(that's what they keep saying) and it will be ready on the same day we are planing to travel so there is no way we gonna make it, I called them and I did explain to them my situation and asked what should I do to speed up the process and they told me that I cannot do anything because they do not have any record for him yet so I asked is the latency from the hospital and she told me I don't know.

So my question is How can I get him a passport before the first of December?

Thanks in advance.

Hello Firas,

I am currently witnessing your exact problem. My wife gave birth a week ago in Hudson county New Jersey and I was planning to return to egypt within 20 days but the hospital told us the birth certificate will take from 6 to 8 weeks. I am curious if you can give me any advise as to how I can expedite the process. I am planning to go to the trenton office next week to try to expedite but I don't think it will work. Your experience and advise will be of great help.

Thank you in advance.

Mahmoud

They did not expedite the process, but I manage to expedite the passport I got him the passport within 2 days
But you must make an appointment early
I don't know what to tell you but if want my advice you have to adjust your flight date cuz those guys in Trenton will not issue the birth certificate before the 6 weeks

By the way congrats for the new baby :)
