Hi,I m very new here. I m Malaysian and I just got married with USC last year. we got married here, in my country, Malaysia. I m still in Malaysia and waiting to join him as soon as all the process done. Just before we got married last year, I applied for visitor visa but it was denied. And we decide not to re-apply for visitor visa, but wanted to apply for the spouse visa directly after we got married.we still confused with the process and we need honest opinion/ suggestion. He sent petition i-130 on Feb 1, 2013, and we receive I-797 NOA last week with priority date on Feb 06, 2013. The NOA type received is as a receipt. what is our next step? do i need to send anything to the embassy here? how long its going to take for me to join my husband there? Thanks so much.

That was a mistake. A tourist visa does not entitle you to get married or have a job.

Just follow the instructions as mentioned in the I-797 NOA paper.

A couple of months. Just be p-a-t-i-e-n-t.

Visit www.uscis.gov and the website of the American Embassy in Malaysia to read more information.
