My recommendation is to go on Wednesdays. Also I went on last
wednesday and since fourth of July was on a wednesday, it took
me almost the whole day, I reached there at 7:00 and left the INS
building at 3:45. The officers goofed up on the lines
merged two or three queues onto one, had a stupid slow officer
working on the queue in which I was, and I landed up getting my
passport stamped way after the people who came after me, I was in
the first 50 people when I entered and when I left I was in the
last 50. On Wednesday\'s they do only new and replacement green
cards, so it should be faster.

Since I was busy wednesday, I decided to try my luck on Thursday. I did not have any problem with the passport stamping at Newark (I just returned). I went in at 9:00 and was out by 11:30.
