My husband and I finished our interview and oath yesterday.here is a gist of what happened:

My husband could not find his DL just before leaving for the interview. We decided to take a chance and go anyway. At the security we showed his Green card instead of DL as ID. We were let in,
We gave in our appointment letters and waited for about an hour before my husband was called in first.
He came out after about 10 minutes. The IO had lso asked him for his DL to which my husband replied he had misplaced it, but had his proof of residence if needed. THe IO was ok with it. But my husband had a court disposition on which the seal was not ok
.So the IO wanted to consult his supervisor before he gave the Ok to my husband. So he had to come out and wait.

I was called in much later . THe IO was nice . She asked me the 6 questions, then asked me to write and read a sentence. Then she asked me if I was willing to take the oath. I said yes. After this, she said that I had too much time outside the US,(even though it was well within the legal limit) .I said I needed to take care of my mother back home. She asked me where my kids were. I said one was studying in the US and two were with my mom temporarily . Then I offered her proof of my continuous residence (which proved to be VERY VERY IMPORTANT) She asked me to wait outside till she went through all the dates on my passport. I then offered her an excel sheet with all my dates , just to make her job easier. She was happy I had taken the trouble.
After the longest , most harrowing 30 minutes or so of waiting, she came and asked me to sign a paper .

My husband was called in and handed handed over a red book and asked to go to the Oath room.
After about 20 minutes I was also called in, asked to hand over my Green card and then given the red book and asked to go jopin my husband for the 11.30 oath.

The end of a 15 year journey for us . Thank you to all the wonderful people on this forum who helped us through this journey . Thank you again .

Hi fams, congratulations. I'd also like to know what your travel pattern looks like, because I'm in the same boat.

my travel pattern

Thank you for your wishes.
here is an indication of how my travel looked like :

2/23/2009- to 6/18/2009
7/20/2008 to 1/1/2009
7/6/2008 to 7/13/2008
12/18/2007 to 6/8/2008
6/20/2007 to 10/23/2007
6/15/2006 to 8/13/2006
6/12/2005 to 9/20/2005
12/9/2009 to 12/18/2009

The bottom line is, you have to prove your residency ties are preserved in the US. I had bank statements, utility bills, leases for every year since my green card. It helps to find all these proofs and take it with you to the interview, just in case.
Also, they go over the application with you , line by line. So please do not say anything contrary to what you have stated in the application .
Hope it helps.
If you need any more information, I would be glad to give my 2 cents to anyone needing it.

Hmm, your travel pattern isn't bad at all. Did you actually take individual bank statements? Did they keep them all? I thought that would be way too much, especially because I don't want CIS to see every single item for which I use my debit card (nothing weird in there, but it's still private information, no?). I do have a letter from the bank stating that I've been an account holder since 2002. I also don't have a lease or mortgage because I've been a dependent of my parents. By the way, why did you need to provide an Excel document for the dates you left? You only have 8 trips, and they all fit into the application form. Is there anything else you provided as US ties? Thanks so much for this information.

What is the red book? Citizen's Almanac? Don't remembewr it is Red

cafeconleche- I had two trips that needed to be updated (not shown here) . I gave the excel sheet only so that it was handy for reference. You dont have to have EVERY bank statement. A random statement for each year would do just fine.
Yes-the red book is the citizen's almanac

Thanks fams. Do you mind listing the exact proofs of residence you provided? I want to see if I have them all (except for a lease/mortgage).

Dear Cafeconleche,

Do you mind sharing info with regard to additional evidence for COP visits.
I've got LPR on march 2005, and renewed NP in 2006. Have traveled many times since 2006 but haven't break the continuous residence neither permanent residence.
I Have read many posts but could not find the right answer if it is illegal visiting COP after LPR.

Thanks in advance
