Newark - Interview done in Jan, No Oath Given on that day.. Still Waiting.. Any thoughts?

I completed the interview in January and was given a letter that I fulfilled all requirements for the citizenship. However, I was not given oath on that day. I saw a yellow sticky (or yellow paper) on my file with a date of April 15th and the officer jokingly said 'may be they thought you are from the south' and indicated I might be invited for oath ceremony at morristown historical park. It been nearly two months now and I have not received the oath ceremony letter. Should I be concerned and call someone? If so, who should I call? My receipt date is Sept 7, 2010 and Interview date is Jan 10, 2011. Comments and advice is greatly appreciated.

Yes, you should get concerned, you have a legal right to file 1447(b) lawsuit after 120 days of the interview, that almost every time gets the oath done within 30-90 days after filing the suit.
 
Still on the same boat as you but I'm in NYC. I had my interview done on Dec 1st 2010 and IO told me to wait for oath ceremony letter by mail. It will be 120 days on April 1st and have not heard anything.

On March 1st went for a infopass and they told me a supervisor had my file. After I got home from the infopass, I send a e-request through the USCIS website the same day and few days later got a letter saying it might take 60 days from the day I sent the e-request for a decision. I will contact the local congressman for some help.

What you can do is schedule a infopass in the local office you had the interview, send a e-request through the USCIS site or contact your senator or house representative.

What exactly did the form N-652 (naturalization interview results) that you got at the end of the interview say?

There were two boxes there in the middle of the form: Box A says something like "Congratulations, your application has been recommended for approval" and Box B says "A decision cannot yet be made about your application". Which of these two boxes was checked on your N-652?

I see you have not made an attempt to call USCIS. You can either call them, or take an INFOPASS appointment to get more information. Lawsuits come much later so I will go against other advice here. Your comment re April 15 makes me think there is some planned oath ... but the information you provided or yourself noticed is insufficient to determine that. Talk to them and find out.

It is not unusual for oath to take 2 months ... it depends on the DO and whether your case was clearly approved; or pending some supervisory approval or clerical cleanup.
 
The box 'Congratulations, your application has been recommended for approval' was checked on the N652 form. I spoke with USCIS officer yesterday and she gave me the typical response that if it has been less than 90 days, just sit tight. She asked me to call after 90 days have passed. What is wierd is that the status online shows 'Testing & Interview'. The lady says this is standard message until the Oath appointment letter is generated. The wait continues....

Nothing weird about status "testing and interview". There are many naturalized citizens who still have the same status ;-)
 
dont listen anyone only me !!! I have had the same situation...my interview was in January, and I was told my oath ceremony would be April 15...and...I just got Notice N-455, about my oath on April 15....so dont worry , you WILL get it soon....The oath ceremony will be held in Morristown....they pick about 40 people ...its a special ceremony in National Historical Park, You should not be worry, you should feel happy they picked U :))) good luck, CU there :)
 
I got the invitation letter for Oath on April 15th in the mail today. The Oath is going to be given in Morristown. I guess my conversation with the USCIS officer on Wed & my letter to to the USCIS office probably did not matter. Anyway, I am less stressed now. I will probably see you there dziubeknh.
 
Is this a one time thing - not to have same day oath at Newark ? Does this happen frequently at Newark to have people deferred to a future oath ceremony ?
 
I believe most people (>95%) will receive oath on the same day in Newark assuming they have fulfilled all the requirements.
