Does anyone have any recent experience renewing their TN at the Newark airport?

How important is it to have my original diploma with me? I have a photocopy of it but I am hoping not to have to take the original (it is in a frame and quite large). I do have my official transcripts.

I recently traveled to 6 countries in asia in 6 weeks, and back to US on 16th of October 2006.

There were no problem to get the new TN at all, infact the free trade officer @ Newark airport was very very nice.

Yes I didn't want to take any risks so, I took my original degree/transcript with me.

It took 20 min to get the new TN with no questions were asked.

Thanks...I am going to take a copy of one diploma and the original of the other. Hopefully they won't have a problem with that.
