Originally Canadian (my wife is a kiwi), moved to chch in 90 moved to usa in 99.
Nice place, nice people, cost of living is cheap....BUTTTTTT so are the wages!!!!
Nice place to raise a young family.....BUTTTTTT limiting opportunities for their future.
Cheap to get there but expensive to leave (re above...earning power)
Lifestyle is great, not impressed with their eduction from a completeness point of view....they push accelerated reading though, I think maths and sciences are extremely weak as well as the school work ethic....check out private education for your kids....it\'s surprisingly inexpensive even for the best schools.....DON\'T....I repeat DON\'T put your kids in state schools if you can afford it.
Lots of petty crime....I mean LOTS....burglaries etc. Depends on where you live....you really have to pick your spots....let me know if you need more info.
Here\'s something telling.....if we ever moved down to that part of the world.....(and we certainly never plan on it)....we would move to Australia.
i.e. New Zealand.....a wonderful place to VISIT
