You have to understand that usa does not support people like artists in the way that France does. I remember a few years ago when there were demonstrations in France because the laws were c hanging to be less supportive of artists getting unemployment benefit. In the USA you will have to stand on your own two feet - and that is why some many artists are working in restaurants waiting for their big break (which rarely comes).

I am definitely loving the new threads coming up such as this...and the inputs by everyone. To be honest I think deciding which state to go to coming from a small country like mine is so hard, yes there is the state where your host possibly is, but there is where you might want to end up and sometimes it aint the host state!
