hi everyone in NYC.

myself and my husband filed an I-130 & I-485 with the NBC in april. our online status sayd it is taking between 120-180 days to reach a decision; however, the processing dates for I-485s in the new york office is december 2002.

does anyone know why there is such a discrepancy and how long we might be waiting?

the time on the NOA is not really perfect.

I could take some month over the time frame shown on your NOA before the case adjudicate . But i beleive now USCIS is trying different ways for adjudicating the i-485 . They are trying to eliminate the backlog as they previously said by 2006 . But for new york it seems that the dates are note really accurate because some people get their GC in NY from the NBC in the mail and never had to go to interview . I`ve seen a couple of cases like that , family based GC . I do not know whats up .is that some new stuff after a RFE they had their i-485 approve without interview in NYC

Hi,

I filed from NYC as well. If it is not a secret, can you share with us what additional evidence the USCIS requested from you.

Thanks and good luck!

Also, I have never heard somebody getting a GC without an interview. Is this a joke?

Beleive it or not my friend it happened for two people that i know , after sending the RFE they received the card in the mail after approuval of the I-485 they are living in NY . I don`t know if they received it by mistake but it got to be something that the USCIS is trying . One more thing they were married to GC holder and been living in the states for more then 4 years , i have a simular case so if that happen to me you could be sure that definitely USCIS is trying some different approch for the purpose of processing GC .

The USCIS requested from me the evidence of affidavit of support with all supporting document that can prouve that my wife could support me for five years after receiving the GC . i think it is form i-864
