New versus old visa

Hi,

I am currently in India and have a valid H1B petition and visa stamping from current company A.I will soon be getting an approval for the H1B petition from company B.Now if i have to travel to US to work for company B,can I travel on existing visa from company A (with the new petition from company B) or do I need to get a new visa stamping for company B? Pl let me know...

Hi,

While you are outside US, the approved H1 from comp B does not have any value unless you stamp the visa on that H1.
You can not work for comp B after going with H1 visa stamped on behalf of comp A.

Comp B H1 approval is not a visa just a piece of paper and no value unless you activate it by having visa stamped on that H1 and enter US and get I 94 card with caveat H1b with your sponsering company name on it.


Now if i have to travel to US to work for company B,can I travel on existing visa from company A (with the new petition from company B) or do I need to get a new visa stamping for company B? Pl let me know...
