New TN application with approved I-140

I am wondering if anyone here has applied for a new TN with an approved I-140 already in place. I understand that an approved I-140 does not necessarily trigger a TN applicant's immigrant intent but does anyone have an experience of going through a TN application at the border after your I-140 was approved?

If this is doable, does it greatly improve your chance of being approved if you tell a CBP officer that you are commuting across the border daily to the place of employment in the US from your residence in Canada, instead of living in the US totally?

Any feedback would be appreciated.
 
I have got my 2 TN with 2 different I-140. one was approved and once was in process.

No questions asked. applied on Rainbow bridge and Ft. Erie bridge.
 
Thank you, Shyboy, for your output. If you don't mind my asking, do you currently live in the US or are you commuting daily across the border?
