New thread AOS sent around May 10

FP+Bio walk in

I went to the ASC today and had my FP+Biometrics done. I also had an infopass appt just in case.
I told the receptionist at the front desk I am here for FP.
There are plenty of people who do the walk in FP, those for naturalization and online EAD applications. ASC does not have the list for the day... so if your FP appt date is way out, just take your chance and do a walk-in.
I am sure it will be fine in most cases.

I don't know if you guys were just lucky or if the local center is just extraordinarily strict. We don't have enough data to judge I am afraid. Good for you, anway.
 
I will try walk-in anyway. It's worth trying. Does anyone live around Washington, DC. I know where Just Married is. I will keep you guys posted what happens here in DC with walk-in.

What I want to know is, when you say, "yes I have an appointment today" is there a list that they check your name?

ooopss, I just saw my answer!!!! ASC does not have a list for the day, then, basicaly I can say "yes I have an appointment today" even tho I don't... Why make an appointment for so simple thing anyway, and appointment to a date that make none sense.

That's what I meant. The DO (which in Seattle is also the ASC) does not have the list of the people scheduled for appt (by calling the 1-800#). There are also a ton of people who just come for FP (for naturalization), and FP+Bio (for online EAD application). The front desk for sure doesn't have the list of the guys scheduled for FP appt for the day. Worth checking out.
What they did was
1. For EAD, right index FP + photo
2. For I485, four fingers + thumb prints for right and left hands, then individual finger prints for all 10 fingers. The quality was not that great so the officer even asked me if I used some kind of lotion! Weird! She had to repeat it several times. Hope I don't have to repeat the pain!
 
These people are so insane!!!! Why are we making damn appointments if they do not even have list for who is coming who has not showed up etc. This is none sense. This whole process is bs but nothing else.

Can't find online status!

Done with FP+Bio, still cannot find online status. Wonder why!
Just-Married, did you call the FBI to find out if your finger print was approved?
 
Chill, don't get upset! I agree, it is nothing but a lot of red-tape but I guess it is the price we have to pay. We are so close so hopefully it won't be too long. I sometimes wonder if the public knows about the process immigrants have to go though. I think they would flip.
Anyhow, DO= district office.
 
Of course I'm chill, of course I'm playing the game within the rules. However, I think it's OK to say this game is so stupid!!!

Public, avarage Joe, has no clue what is going on to us. They don't want to know, they don't want to hear. However, if this was in another country, then they would get interested in, and begin making some dum comments on it, or make fun of it etc. You know, known American attitude...

Anyway, this is not the only dum game I played in my life. So, let's try to walki-in first and see what will happen-I'll keep y'all posted...

I havent checked with the FBI about my FP/Bio receipt. Did you check with them after the FP/Bio? If you did, let me know the procedure to do that.

I tried the walk in on saturday 06/18/05, it was around 12.00 pm there was no line or anything, but there were a lot of people waiting on the seats inside, like all the seats available in the center were occupied. Well, I went to the reception and asked if I can do the FP/Bio today without having an appointment, he said "no" and showed me 3 pages of listed people with their confirmation numbers for the appointment. Also when I went on monday the lady took the list in her hand first and asked me if I had an appointment, when I said no she kept it back and you know the rest. So yeah, some centers might be carrying the appointment lists. One thing I noted on the list she carired is that she was crossing some people out who might have not shown up or may like me did early FP/Bio and are still on the list.

Also, have you done anything with your school? My international student advisor told me that I have to tender my 797Cs or something. I have not done that yet, and she was talking about other stuff I cannot remember right now. Since I have no access to my work Email, I have sent her another email on the same issue. I will let you know whatever she comes back with. I guess we're not 100% done with our scholls yet!

Online status

Yeah, can check online status now...Says "I765, I485 received, NOA sent, it is taking xx to xx days, lalalalalalala".

Educate me guys, I485 is process at DO, how about I765 and I131, where are they processed, NBC? NSC? DO? I found the question once on forum but can't find it now....Thanks.

Just-married, call FBI, (304)-625-5590, give A# and can check if FP approved or rejected.

Hey Pondicherry,

Thanks for giving me the FBI number, I called them and got to know that they did approve the FP the same day they received it from INS and sent the results back to INS.

Its good to know that you can check your status online now. The online status says the same thing to me too. Can you also check the status for I-130? I still cant.

Hi Just-married,
My case is a little different...my I130 is already approved in 2001, Family-based category 1, with current priority date.
I can't check my I131 (AP), probably 'cos it's processed at the DO? How about you?
 
Congrats for both of you guys: just married and pondicherry!!!

Wish me luck on Monday for my first trial to go get my fingerprinting done w/out the appointment.

Pondicherry, I havent applied for AP, I am not planning on leaving the country till I have the permanent green card. Luckily when I was in school I got to go home every year, so just these two years I should be able to manage it and hopefully next year my parents will visit me.

Probably because it's a Saturday. Most likely will get in next week. Try Tue or Wed when it is usually not so busy
