New Social Security Card, please help

Hi, Guys,
    My I-485 approved on 10/18/01 (VSC);
    PP stamped on 10/26/01 (Boston);
    No plastic card yet, AVM message still "I-485 approved..."
    Went to local SS Administration Office for new SS card on 12/27/01;
    New SS card arrived on 01/03/02. Same SS number, also "Valid for work only with INS authorization" on the card.
    I heard the new SS card should show only the name and number, no other text. It should be the same as US citizen have.
    Any ideas?

Also make sure that when you fill in the SS5 form

check the box marked "Legal Alien Allowed to work"

Hello,
   I did not fill in the SS5 form. All I did was showing the officer my stamped passport, my old SS card and Driver\'s License. The officer updated my info in the computer database and told me that the new SS card will arrive in two weeks.
   I plan to go back to the local SS Office.

is the old SS Card and GC Plastic not sufficient. I thought there was no need to get the new SS Card

Every year before our birth date, we get a letter
from SSA that estimate what benefits we are
eligible for? Are estimates based upon our
status? I can not see tehy really factor
in that.
