New proposal by Mr Specter .. Any one has draft?

Numbersusa has discussed a new proposal by Mr Specter (chairman of SJC). This proposal looks very good for legal immigrants. It increases the immigration visa numbers. It looks like it is different from two pending bills on immigration reform. any one has the draft of this proposal?

How it is possible numbersusa gets all these information before us? We have to be more active to overcome the false propaganda by numbersusa and we have to act before numbersusa makes damage to this proposal.

Guys i have said this TIME and AGAIN. Let us PLS meet with NumbersUSA and educate them abt the advantages of legal immigrants. Pls let us educate them abt the difference between legal and illegal immigration. Unless we reduce opposition from these "anti-immigration" ppl we are going to keep on losing the battle.

Nozdam,

No. It wont help. They hate us. There is no point in talking to them. For them every one is same. Whether we are legal or illegal , temporary or permanet , employment or family, Nobel prize winner or construction worker they hate immigrants. They feel US is growing rapidly with immigrant population.

However, they forget one thing. They may be the great-great-grand kids of "undocumented-illegal aliens" entered to this country centuries ago.

We have to unite and fight against this false propaganda, by contactiong the law makers who is ready to understand and help.
 
Guys,
Arnel Specter is God Father for us. PA guys should take appointment and meet him as soon as possible. A group of minimum five people would be great.
Some one from PA should take leadership to meet him

Nozdam, and others from PA, please try and meet Arlen Specter after the vacations.

He is not only positive about immigration but I am sure there is a big pro-immigration force/lobbyist behind him.

It would help us immensely if we focus on influential people with positive attitude towards immigration.

I agree with some of the sentiments already stated. Educating numbersusa about the virtues of legal immigration is like educating Saddam about the virtues of democracy. Rationality has no part in the reasons for their beliefs.
Sen. Specter along with Sen McCain would be our best bet since Republicans are in power. Pro immigrant Democrats are also likely to rally around this if Senator Kennedy and the leadership is involved in this. Right now the next big opportunity would be February in the senate where they will take up this huge illegal immigration bill. The house did grandstanding to show the electorate they are acting. The senate version and conference will definitely have some pro immigrant provisions. Hopefully since that will be an immigration predominantly bill, there will be less partisanship.
Lets push the senate along with the business community in this regard.
 
Which bill are they going to talk about? Spector's bill?
