Hey guys:
BCIS has updated its processing date 11/16/1999. What does it means? I hope it means they are processing cases files on or before 11/16/1999.

Please advise.....

Yes Azad! It should mean exactly what you mentioned. However my question is that how come BCIS is processing cases filed on Oct. 98 and Nov.99 simultaneously???

Best Wishes,

Thats really surprizing. I had my FP last month on 27th. I am not sure if they are really working on my case and similarly on other who files on or before 11/16/1999.
I filed my on 11/07/1999
Finger Print on 10/27/03

Its really puzzel to be solved. May be Gilber/Jack/Alenpero can answer from their experience

Azadindian, BCIS updated this date a while back. Link to this news has been removed from BCIS home page click here. As we disscussed before, nobody is sure what this date means, but majority of the people here think that 11/16/1999 is the cut off date for the next FYI. Few more days and we will know (hopefully).

I would have told you if knew what the real deal is.

That said, this fiscal year ends in just one week and I do not see how they can approve all cases filed before 11/16/99.

If you have time on your hand while you are waiting, perhaps you should gather affidavits from friends/neighbors, collect evidence of the ties you have established in this country and so on. So that if you are hit with an inadmissible letter and asked to submit a waiver form, you can be ready.

Gilbert,
what do you say about the possibility that they really want to approve as much cases before the end of the fiscal year as possible. I wrote on an earlier post about my friend who had his FP and approval notice and stamp all in 3weeks time?? his RD was 10/99. and I mentioned the fact that he said that the approval notice paper looked very old and he said even the writting is fading along the folded lines.
could it be that they have those ready and back dated to avoid the 9/30 date deadline.
I know this sound crazy and out of line, but it's just a thought, and besides, you expect anything from BCIS.

I guess it is certainly possible, though in my humble opinion it is not probable.

Perhaps a more productive use of time for people expecting approval soon is to prepare to respond to a possible request for an I-602 Exclusion Waiver. So that you would save some time if the waiver is needed.

I would concur with Gilbert. I am in the same boat and in the process of having RFE prepared and send it to USCIS. If my RFE was not sent to a wrong address and then a month wait to receive it and then now having it prepared with a lawyer has added 3 month delay for me..... I am hoping to have this sent out by next week.....

Those who are waiting can help themselves by preparing for possible RFE requests that have been made in recent past and be prepared for them JUST in Case if they happen to receive one of those and then they will be prepared ....

Regards,

I'm not too optimistic either. I would agree with Gilbert and RAsylee. Few more days guys ... few more days and at least we will know something new ...

Are you sure your friend applied on 10/99 and not 10/98? Bear in mind that the INS is infamous for being extremely disorganzied and it can be pure luck on his part. Another possibility is that they got a permission to grant the visas weeks before the new fiscal year so that by the end of 10/04 they would have reached the new processing date (11/99). They may have got that permission to avoid missing the deadline again because they will obviosuly miss it this year.
