New processing times

how unproductive are these people...they dont do any work...still at aug 22 2001!!

If there is a supervisor...he should be looking at this and thinking...i need to fire these people!!

just curious how much is an adjudicating officer paid?

Not a creative job thats for sure..

I am so damn frustrated...

I think we all know that the published times do not acurately reflect the true picture.

Rupnetn to a certain extent, and the Greenland script, to a larger extent, provide us with more accuracy ( and hope sometimes:D )

I would not normally reproduce a previous post from a different thread, but since there seems to be considerable angst developing on this issue, I thought it may be useful to stray from that rule here. Accordingly, here is my take on the published processing dates, as posted in a different thread from a couple of days ago. Apologies if folks find it repetitive.

"The processing dates that are put out by the INS through AILA (note that this information is not in theory available to the public even though INS is a government agency) are just intended to serve as a line in the sand to trigger status inquiries from applicants' lawyers (and it seems, also members of congress). In order to limit the number of such inquiries, the service centers tend to move the published processing dates only after they have been able to clear out almost all of the backlog as of such dates. So for example, NSC will move forward from Aug. 22, 2001 for I-485 (EB) cases only after they have finished processing, say, 95-99% (this is my guess, the actual level may be different) of the cases filed before this date.

Hence, the dates are unlikely to provide an accurate picture of the actual processing situation at the various service centers."

So even though, NSC may be saying that they are processing Aug. 22, 2001 I-485 EB cases, we know that in actuality they are much further along (more like end-Nov with respect to cases from the third world).

unrelated post...but "sankrit"

dont u mean

"que sera sera" ... :) (or is there a "sara")
Good luck to all

Fancy, fancy...Jack's back...:D

Hey Jack -
Good to see ya' lurking around on the board. How are things? Hope they are good. How's the vacation back to Canada?

Cheers,

Jack,

There is a sara but her name is not sara!

It is just a personalized version of Que sera sera. I believe both the spellings are acceptable, although I am not certain of this. I have to admit that I was also a bit wary of adopting sera, as it is also the plural of serum.

By the way, I recall you hinting in one of your pre-approval posts at a possible 'tell all' memoir (a la Hillary!), with some juicy bits about your law firm's ineptitude. We are looking forward to your salacious best!

yo bud...I Dint get much of

what u said..but I was just thinking from the french perspective...since that's my first language..so I am kind of sensitive abt that :) ..and the conjugated form of the verb "to be" in the future is "Sera" i.e. will be ..hence "whatever will be - que sera"
French 101 was just for fun..esp since Americans are so anti -French ....
(where on earth did the topic of serums, etc come from.. :))

well .. regarding the law firm yes...all in due course my friend..all in due course..currently I am in the PC waiting Q,and I think that will take another 6 mos at least...
Cheers
Jack

Sankrityayan

I thought your "Que sara sara" is derived from famous "Holi" song called "Jogira sara rara".

if it at all derived from a song, then it would be from Doris Day's famous song "que sera sera" from the Alfred Hitchcock movie, The Man Who Knew Too Much, although i suspect sankrit's inpiration sprung from more classical sources. :)

jack

what is it you said about being harassed until you have the physical plastic card. does that mean you'll be put through the wringer if you "only" have a stamp on your passport? I thought it was all the same. will this idiotic whims of the all powerful BCIS ever end??????

Does anyone know how long it takes for the plastic card to be mailed?

hi deputydawg and others

well..I 'm referring to my experiences only, and so others might disagree..or have different experiences from mine
I went to the UK,Canada, after the "i551" stamp
and was asked to go thru INS Secondary, and had a spl stamp on my Customs form, and was questioned,etc..both times.
And so I asked the INS guys at the ins secondary ,if I'd have to endure this each time I enter the US...and they said
"yeah..until u get the Green Card"
so it's not over till the fat lady sings...
cheers
Jack

At the risk of disappointing some of the purists here, it does come from the Doris Day song. I believe that is the only attitude that will preserve one's sanity (and perhaps a sliver of dignity) when confronted with an animal like the INS.

Without going too much into the etymology of it, I think the phrase 'Que Sera Sera' has been co-opted by the pop-culture crowd into English over the years and has gained an identity of its own, thus permitting a certain liberty in use and form that is not necessarily sanctioned in its original language, a la 'quixotic'! (Jack, would you call this linguistic expropriation?). I have noticed the 'Sera' spelt as 'Sara' in many places and I prefer this version as it is less likely to invoke the somewhat unappealing connotation of the english word sera (plural of serum).

Sanskrit,

Dont you think that remarks of the nature "animal like the INS" goes against your philosophy of "Que sara sara" ?

Remember: Whatever will be , will be. And so will BCIS.

Sorry if this post offends you...
