New Passport and old I-94 : Need Advice from Gurus

Guys one of my friends has this problem.
His current H1 visa expires on 11/25/2005. But his passport expires on Oct16 ,2004. So he recently got a new passport with. Old passport still has visa and I-94,. He heard from some one that, if you get a new passport you need to get a new i-94. That guy told him that when he entered USA (he recently travelled out side US and came back in in april) the officer should have issue i94 till the expiry of passport. But the officer issued till expiry of his visa.

Is this a problem ? Does he need to get a new i-94 ? Was any one in the same situation ? Or Gurus any info ????
 
your friend does not have to get a new stamp, he only needs to keep both passports stapled together and present both.

The POE officers sometimes do issue the I-94 upo the visa validity even if beyond passprt expiry, as long as hid I-94 is valid no worries
