New&old DS-230 form in the envelope

Hey all,

I got my NL a few days ago, and I noticed that in the envelope there is one DS230 with expiration date (top right corner) 02/29/2012 and the other one is with expiration date 07/31/2007.

Should I print newer ones for my spouse and kid?

Thanks.

It doesn't really matter. Either the old version (2007) or the new version (2012) will be accepted. They're both contain the same set of questions.

You could print out the new version for every single family members or mix the form with the old ones.

I would not use any old forms. Even with the same set of questions an expired form can be rejected. I know a person who filed her AOS package with an expired I-765. She received NOA for I-485, and a notice for rejected I-765. So she had to resend an updated form, and lost about three weeks.

Don't mix I-765 with the DS-230 and the DSP-122. They are completely different types of forms.

If the old version of the forms can't be used anymore, why would KCC send people the old version of the forms? It's because it doesn't matter to them and because both version are acceptable. In my opinion, KCC probably overstocked with the old version of the forms and have to get rid of them.

When I got my forms, it was also the old version. I sent it back to KCC and never have an issue even until the interview.

I'm sure there are many people in this forum who sent back the old version of the DS-230, DSP-122 form that KCC sent with the 1st NL and have no issue whatsoever with the DV process.

Well, the new ones are available online so I guess there is no harm in printing news ones instead of using the old ones. I need one extra anyway as my son was born after we applied for DV.

Is it safe to print them on A4 paper, or should I try and find Letter format?
