Hi all,

Desperation and fustration have finally gotten the best of me and I am now taking a proactive stance in regards to my adjaustment of status cases. I was fortunate to find this excellent forum and I would like to give you some details about my case in hopes of receiving some advice. The information below might seem a little long-winded but, please, bear with me.

I married a USC on March 2003. I filed I-485/I-130/I-765 forms with the Orlando , FL district office on December 2004 for which I received NOA's with RD and ND of 01/05/2004 and 01/23/2004, respectively (please see timeline summary below). These forms have MSC receipt numbers so they are at the NBC in MO. So far, so good; now, I moved from Orlando, FL to Princeton, NJ on January 2005 at which time I filed a AR-11 form and also sent a letter to the Orlando DO informing them of my move. In addition, I called the customer service center to let them know about my move. It has been over a year since this happened and I have yet to receive news about my case. I have received fingerprinting notices from both Newark and Cherry Hill disctrict offices. I have called the service center numerous times and the immigration officers I talked to said that my case should now be processed according to the processing dates from the local NJ offices and, based on this, my case should have already been processed. I have placed 3 inquiries about my case and finally received a letter from the Cherry Hill office with a G-14 form requesting further information to be mailed to MSC for a further status on my case.

I just feel I am given the runaround by the service center avery time I call. My case has been stagnant for over two years now. At this pace the case could have been processed by the Orlando office (one of the slowest in the country). So my question is, what else can I do to see this case through? is anyone else in this situation? I have heard that having my waife write our senator might be of help, any advice on this?

Thank you for your consideration and help in this matter.

Best regards,

Marcos

Did you try to make an INFOPASS?
What further information they are requesting? At least if they are sending you things mean that they know about your case and they have it.
Don't call again the customer service, they are contractors they are not immigration officers, unless a supervisor talk to you and give you more detail about your case, and as far goes your case they won't be much of a help. You must go directly to your DO. Make an Infopass and get all your paperwork there.
Did you replay to the G-14? I never heard about the G-14.
Good luck,

Thanks for your response,

The G-14 is basically a simple form where one has to indicate basic personal and case information. I did fill it out and send it in the mail this Monday (next day). Well today I received an email about my case but it was to inform me that the letter they sent was returned to them by the post office as undeliverable. They (in all their wisdom) must have sent it to my old Florida address which I made sure to change. I just got off the phone with them. I am going to follow your advice and get an infopass appointment. I do not know if it'll help much (they haven't been helpful at all in the past but NJ officers might be different). Again thanks for the response and information.

Just got the I130 interview in Tampa

Yours is more complicated by the move. Lawyer said never move! I am USC married to my husband after he entered 2001 and filed for political asylum in 2001. Married 10/03 Reciepts for I485, I130, etc. Dec. 03. Papers lost for 2 years. Geographically assigned to Tampa for I130, but asylum case in Miami. Original papers were in tampa one year then sent to Miami where they sat for another year. DOZENS OF INFO PASSES TO BOTH OFFICES. 2 separate state senators. I called every day in the month of December to the senators office. Plus last infopass had the lawyer write a letter to the confusion of location for the I130 interview. Removal hearing for husbands asylum case in 2 weeks. January 15, received notice for I130 interview in Tampa. Yesterday after so much anxiety my husband and I were approved for the I130 now we return to Miami on the 15th to hopefully adjust his status. Anyone know if we need to file another I485 (I have a receipt and biometrics from 12/03) Lawyer doesn't even know what to expect. Thanks for your help

And your lawyer doesn't know if you should file another I-485? If your old receipt are still valid you shouldn't file it again...but definetly you will have to do a new biometric and fingerprints.
It is true that a move can cause many headaches but at the same time other people never experienced such a problem and if you have to move you must do it.
Now your case is with asylum or family based? I never heard an interview for I-130. In any case at the interview did they give you an approval letter for the I-130?
Good luck,
