New (job) TN via USCIS Premium Processing

I am currently working in the US on TN Status.

I have agreed to take a job with a new employer, with the intention of again doing so under TN Status.

The new employer is willing to file for my new TN via USCIS Premium Processing if that is my preference.

Is there any downside to this? Would it complicate my leaving my current job with two weeks notice? Would it in any way invalidate my current TN (in the event my soon to be former employer asks me to do some limited contract work?)

I think I have a slight preference for this given that
a) saves me a trip to the border
b) my new job's position title will "Computer Systems Analyst", which I have read to be vulnerable to relatively greater scrutiny

I'd recommend filing the premium processing and then checking the box on Form I-129 that says "new concurrent employment". This will mean that your existing TN won't be immediately invalidated on approval of the new one, which will be useful both for the purposes of giving notice and for the purposes of later limited contract work. Don't give your notice until the new TN is approved though.

I understand and agree with your reasons for preferring premium processing by mail, but if there are known weaknesses in the petition do try to deal with those before filing because even by mail they can choose to scrutinize you closely.
