I agree with most of the things said here. I just wanna point out one important thing though: being optimistic and hoping and praying is not gonna get you your GC. That's like waiting for a dog to talk, in the case of the BCIS, if you get the analogy here.
The reality is all of us waiting are under the whims and bureaucracy of the BCIS. The present policy of the BCIS seems obviously to be one of "delaying" the process of permanent residency. As a result, if the winds of politics and policy don't change we will continue to suffer under it. The disadvantage that we have is that we have no real clout or power to control the outcome of this process as yet. This is a moot point, but the game is already rigged against us, because we as non-citizens do not have any voting power to "play" the game.
There are already a few initiatives in this forum to try to increase our voice in the process. Support these if you agree with approach. At present that's the only option most of us have asied from ranting and raving at BCIS.
