Hey all,

I was on J1 visa earlier for on year (having 2 year HRR). Then I stayed in my homecountry for 1 year. Then I got married and came back to US on F2 visa. Now I would like to apply for waiver and I am also looking for a post-doc position which will sponser my J1 visa(since I can not get H1 right away).

Q1. Will it affect me to get another J1 since I have applied for Waiver?

Q2. Is it easy to get another waiver for new J1 (if I get two HRR with it)?

Q3. Do I need to go to my homecountry to get J1 stamp or can I continue my stay and get it stamped whenever I go back to my homecountry?

It is kind of urgent, I would really appriciate it someone could suggest me in this regard.

No, you can simply change your status from F-2 to J-1 without leaving the US.
